Because I value my mental health I will be driving the NC500 from this Friday afternoon well leaving Yorkshire for there at least. To that end if you are free and willing to tag along let me know. Alternatively if you are based up there and wouldn't mind some company for a brew or a dram again let me know and I'll have a detour.  It's always good to put another face to a name on the tinterweb.

It is something on my list to do sometime.

I might start off with the NL250 to break my teeth in to first.

Hope you enjoy yourself.
Having done it this year it's spectacular, but the best road (for scenery and away from it all feeling) is as follows. It's not a fast drive road this bit....
Hang a left off NC500 at Loch Assynt onto A837, then hang a right onto B869 before rejoining A894.
It is part of the NC500 but often gets missed, simply the A894 is a bit of a shortcut at this point.

Well worth it and only just wide enough for a Jimny. Also the Jimny petrol tank starts to feel small the higher you get on the west side / north, so fill up at every opportunity.

This bit

Yokohama Geolanders, Sony head unit, NAUTILUS Air Horn, DRL conversion, Rear cargo space, Elvis Bobblehead, transfer Guard, Indian hanging Elephant, Koni Heavy track dampers, Custom SS exhaust, Voodoo Doll, Adventure Rack with LED ight bar, vintage ERIBA caravan usually attached (yes it's slow)

And the best bit about that is if the camp site is open they do an impressive bacon sandwich!

As for fuel I will have an extra half tank with me as I have played this game before, out of season Sunday fuel hunting up there is not for the faint of heart.
