My apologies to all.
The site email service had failed. It turned out to have failed a few months back therefore people could not properly register for the forum or use the contact form etc.
I did not notice, I just thought it had gone quiet in terms of being contacted. I realised on Monday that something was up and have investigated and cured the issue this morning
(For the Linux experts out there, the setuid bit on the mail log directory had been mis-set, as this is not something normally touched I can only assume a bad update or system corruption occurred)
