Outage - Friday 26th February
The actual move process is quite quick, I have to synchronise the database between the two servers which will take less that 30 minutes.
However, as it is an actual move of server then the Internet DNS records have to be updated (this should also fix the broken emailing issue). The Internet DNS update is reliant on the change filtering through the internet, this can take up to 24hrs. This is out of my control and is a standard internet issue.
Most DNS records will update within an hour. But a few providers will not update as quick. Therefore you will be left looking at the old site if your DNS has not updated.
If this affects you then you can directly access the new site using test.bigjimny.com
The changes are all "under the hood". It is a complete new build of Linux and the website core. The build is clean and things such as the £ symbol work
