Yes, due to popular demand we have organised a BigJimny Meet event on June 14th 2026 at  Parkwood 4x4 (a.k.a Tong) which is between Leeds and Bradford in West Yorkshire. This is a meet-up with 4x4 off-road drive around event. This is a social meet along with the opportunity to drive your vehicle off-road on a site where there is something for everyone. So its time to put it in your diary as this is a not to be missed event.

This is an event for all vehicles, from shiny to fully tricked up. It is also a social event with overnight camping and a great vibe for those wanting to simply hang around with fellow Jimny enthusiasts. The event location is Parkwood 4x4 which is often called "Tong", the postcode is BD4 0RR. This is one of the largest off-road sites in the UK and has a variety of firm tracks through to extreme testing terrain. There will be a burger van during the day for breakfast, snacks and lunch. We will be also organising toilets and wash facilities for the camping area.

All participants must be pre-booked, turn up ad-hoc on the day will not be permitted. General spectators are not permitted as there is only limited space. Everyone attending should have a seat in a booked vehicle and that seat should have appropriate safety provision (seat belt, child seat, harness etc.)

Booking is PER VEHICLE and it is £45, there is a multi-vehicle discount for VEHICLES BOOKED AT THE SAME TIME so gather your friends together and make a single booking to save.

Additional drivers/passengers with the same vehicle are free, we are setting the limit on tickets to 140.

BEFORE YOU BOOK - You can ask questions etc. in the forum here: - FORUM DISCUSSION

ONCE YOU HAVE BOOKED - There is a WhatsApp group just for this event (no Technical Support or general Jimny Chat) - Please email  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with your entry number and mobile number to gain  access

Trailered vehicles are permitted, however this is a family drive around event so do not come if you expect to blast around in a "scrapper". BigJimny and the site owners reserve the right to refuse entry to vehicles that appear to be little more than scrap. There has been a rise in recent events(not BigJimny events!) where people have brought along a scrapper to destroy, this is not what this event is about.

As with any motorsport or motor related event, there is a small element of danger. You are responsible for driving in a safe manner. The event is suitable for beginners and shiny cars but you should be aware that there is always a chance of a puncture or foliage scratches dependant on how you drive.

25/8/08 - Changing the Front Wheel Bearings

So following on from the KingPin bearings I have moved onto the wheel bearings. Again I have prepared a "How to" guide with the full details of the change so there is only an overview here!

The problem with the front wheel bearings is that they are hidden behind a special lock nut.....

16/08/08 - Baz's Jimny

I met up with Baz today at the Berkshire 4x4 show. As you can see below he has a smart looking Jimny under construction. Currenty it is running 31" Insa Turbo Sahara tyres based on a couple of inches lift. He has cut away the bumper to improve its clearance and underneath the back is a nice sounding Cherry Bomb Exhaust.

12/8/08 - Changing the KingPin Bearings

So if you have been following this website you will know my car failed the MOT and one of the factors were the Kingpin Bearings on both sides.

It was a fair decision and I have now changed them.

A number of people have offered advice on which bearings to use as some bearings do not seem to fit. I used bearings from BigJimny Shop which fitted ok.

As you can see the hubs were full of water, oil and grease....

12/8/08 - Future Rust Problem?

One of the MOT failure points for my car was headlamp aim. Therefore I have pulled the headlamps out to clean and oil the adjusters and check the adjuster motors (UK Spec. models can have a headlamp leveling system).

The headlamps are pretty straight forward to remove, simply underdo all the wiring on the rear (unplug the lead from the main bulbs and twist out the indicator and sidelight bulbs,  prise off the headlamp adjuster power connector with a screwdriver) then undo the two screws (one top and one side) and then lever out the unit (this can require quite a push as there are two plastic locating pegs at the bottom rear that need to be dislocated).

With the headlamps removed I saw this........
