Baptism of fire!! (well Snow) was created by just
Picked up my Jimny last Thursday and drove home ever since then it has snowed. I have driven the Jimny in snow more than I have on the road!
I have to say that it is brilliant and well mannered I am much impressed I was a bit dubious with the bad write ups it has had but as I thought they are testing against a road car I have had a Series 3 landy and a 110 county the Jimny is better than both though very similar to the series 3 but faster quieter and warmer.

just need some tyres and wheels for the winter.

I managed to pick up a set of bf goodrich with about 9mm tread on for £60, they have done very well for me in the snow. All depends on your budget really

I have 7x15 modulars at the moment with 205/70/15 kumho 798.
I like the look of the 215/75/15 general grabber AT2.

The Jimny isnt too bad with the standard tyres though in 2wd it has a tendency to slide a little. Is it worse with the bfg's any thoughts on 195 80 15 being more predictable

Not sure mate, in the wet its ok.... just on these icy frosty roads its twitchy but as you said it is anyway. it is a bit worse though yeh but mud tyres generally are i think.

The modulars are 7x15,if you have alloy wheels, you will need a new set of open end wheel nuts from BIT4VITS.wheels from 4x4 tyres.

the modulars from 4x4at are out of stock for a few months, mine were sourced from ebay, 125 for 5 delivered and like them better than the 4x4at ones too so that was a bonus lol
