My 2000 Urban Jimny

Since two years I am the proud owner of my silver 2000 Jimny 4x4 automatic JLX.

Bought it with 80000 km's and today reached 117000 km's, use it a lot, like it a lot.

No spectaculair updates or mods, I'm not so handy but still managed to switch the clock and radio, painted my roof rails and grill covers, placed privacy foil, installed rear speakers and colored my rims black this weekend.... Urban style.

Got no off road experience only used 4x4 on the grass and in the snow the last 2 winters. I've managed to get rid of all the squeaks, rattles and other noises so we can enjoy the motorish sound which comes from under the hood....also our Jimny is not bewitched with the Wobble i've read about.

My intension is to go offroading with my three sons when my twins are a bit older (they are 3 now and my oldest is 8) thus we'll keep the Jimny for a while.

My Wife and I drive the Jimny more than our Voyager, since the Jimny puts a smile on your face while driving. I've had three Smarts in the years before and they did the same, but maybe thats cursing for some.....

My wishlist is not very long, since the state it is in today suits me, other tires more AT style with OWL instead of the Duelers, open air filter for a bit more grmmy sound and connect my upper rear lights are probably the only things within the next few weeks.

Drove this one till 2014, bought a smart Roadster instead and some other cars but since 4 weeks I'm the owner of a beautiful Jimny automatic again.

Built in 2004, 94000kms driven since then and my father was the owner the last four years, I've bought this car with him while I still owned the silver one.

Already did some minor mods, placed the speakers in the backseats, shocks upgraded, spray painted the logo's on the back, spray painted the roofrails, cleared the headlights, changed the bulbs for a clean view, w5w's to LED, signal lights to SilverVision and the H4's to Philips WhiteVision, connected the upper lights at the back to work, remote controlled central locking, placed rubber floor mats etc, nothing spectacular but its beginning to feel mine now and looks even greater....pics will follow soon.

Do you have any pictures of your new Jimny? You did a good job of painting the wheels on the last one.

Welcome back to jimny ownership. I had black smart roadsters coupe I have honestly never been round corners faster. Excellent handling beats my mx5 and 205 Gti on coilovers.

Thnx, spray painting and sanding is some sort of a strange combi that works for me.....

Indeed, never took roundabouts and corners faster than the 60kW smart
