Late gen3 and gen4 front brakes the same?

I bought some gen4 calipers as spares for a gen4 but would they be the same as on a 2012 gen3?  Only asking because the gen3 ones are far more likely to seize or leak because of their age (one has already been replaced) and multi-purpose spares are better!

Strange no one has replied on this yet, I am pretty sure I saw this being answered before in here and then I thought haha still same calipers as my 1984 SJ410.
Front brakes are the same on gen2 and gen3. I had a 1985 caliper hanger on my 2005 jimny for a long time until I changed it for the vented kit similar to Martins in the video below.

Martin test fits the vented front brake parts here wich indicates that all are more or less the same:

When you get the parts you can see if there is any difference. I would also check the piston diameters as i know Suzuki has variants of this on other models.

I did a search, most suppliers seem to offer a caliper for a Gen 3 only and then a Gen 4 only. I did find some suppliers who offered a caliper that was claimed to fit all years, but it was an after market and I couldn't really be certain.

You might want to whip a wheel off your 2012 and compare the Gen 4 caliper you bought to see if it is phsically the same.

quick search says the piston diameter is the same on those for sale at euro car parts stores for gen2, gen3 and gen4 it is 51mm.

Could be as easy as an improved no-squeel piece of tin and it is a new part number.

And it most likely physically fit so would be surpriced if it is not the same.

Anyways it is very smart to use common sense and inspect parts thouroughly even though the parts store says it should fit your car or any car, it might not. (based on experience)

There are rear brake cylinders for the drum brakes with at least 3-4 different lengths and various positions of inlets and outlets, some coned inside and some not. I got the wrong parts there more than once but having a SJ413, SJ410, Gen3 jimny and a Swift, if the parts recieved do not fit this car, they might fit the other. Euro car parts web stores you know the lot, well...

If in doubt or in a hurry I use my local Suzuki original parts store. Fast and reliable.

These are Aisin calipers.  I think a few older cars have a different make.  There were also two ever-so-slightly different sizes of disc and corresponding pads but I'm not sure whether the same calipers work with both sizes.

Based on quick search on line the SJ, ,gen3, and gen4 Discs are mostly outer diam 290 (Some says 289) inner 108, thickness 10mm on all.

Varies how the inner diameter is presented like some says 108.3 but when there is ABS it is 108 and 107 when it is no ABS. Otherwise the same.

I ordered these with the 108 for my jimny and recieved the 107 two times.
So now my SJ got new discs.
