Hi.

My SZ5 has an infotainment unit supplied by Suzuki in the SZ5 spec.

I have attached Google Maps from my Android phone. It works but but I am having problems with loadingthe speech files.

The Googal Assistant takes between 10 and 60 minutes to load.

This means that if Iwant to avoid waisting 20 minutes waiting before I can enter the destination, I have to used the manual key pressing route method to find a destination.

I pull off the motoway an hour later to check that the Google assistant has woken up.

Has anybody tried to attach Google Maps to the Suzuki (Bosch) infotainment via Android Auto and had the same problem?

The Android Auto works fine when it id not attache to the infotainment unit.

Weird, no mine works fine - what phone and Android version? I use a OnePlus 6T running Android 9 and Google assistant kicks in within a second or two of pulling the voice button on the steering wheel.

Hi Gaget, thanks for you prompt reply.

Version list\;- (It was lined up correctey in Word.)

Samsung Galaxy Ver A3(2016) phone.

Google Maps Ver 10.15.1

Android O/S Ver 7 .0 Android phone running 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher.
Android Auto Ver 4.2.591443-release (Suzuki Swift) Jimny SZ5 allgrip is not in list.
Needs Android phone running Android O/S 5.0 or higher.
So is a Samsung phone running Android O/S Ver 7.0 OK?

Infotainment Ver Software 1860.1_180327
Software Label AI_PRJ_SUZUKI_UG_EU_SOP6_LINUX_18.0S01
ADR Version AARS_SUZUKI_UP_DAB160401_BF11 07.06.2017 12:46:11

Used / free space on phone:-
Internal storage 15.02 GB used of 16.00 GB = free space 00.98 GB
SD card 15.43 GB used of 59.48 GB = free space 44.05 GB

Current Issues: ‎Monday, ‎22 ‎April ‎2019

Google Assistant takes 10 minutes to an hour to load on infotainment Google maps when started from cold. NB. Google Assistant and Andoid Auto work fine on my phone when not attached to the infotainment.

Slow Android Auto connection when started from cold.

Occasionaly thinks it should connect via MirrorLlink instead of Andiroid Auto when only Android Auto is set up on the infotainment unit. Unplug usb at car end and plug back in after 5 seconds to reset to Adroid Auto.

Can you disable mirror link on the phone and see if that helps? Also try a new usb cable, dodgy ones can cause odd errors.

Hi Gadget.
Is MirrorLink an app ? If so MirrorLink is not on my phone.

Tried multiple USB cables - changing them does not appear to make a difference.

I am on Android 7 you are on 9 The upgrade to 9 is not yet available for my Samsung Galaxy A3 phone.

My internal storage free space = 00.98 GB
My SD card free space = 44.05 GB
How much free space do you have on internal storage ?

I have a sneaky suspician that insufficient storage may be part of the problem.

Do you know if the connection or google maps on uses storage on the infotainment unit itself or on the phone internal storage or SD card?
