I agree about the piston maybe being out of plane. Have you tried new pads? I had something like that yonks ago and the pads were poorly made. Also Is the disc true (like in maybe slightly convex)?
I had to sell my Jimny for several reasons but the rear brakes repeatedly failing the MoT was one main reason. Guess two more. lol

Do it right - use Hammerite
When the blue light is flashing I am kidding.

Not a great help but I have seen similar wear patterns on lots of rear disc cars.
