hi can anyone help when im in 4h or 4l in the mud only rears spins fronts dont move its just like 2wd would this be the hubs not working or more than that ??????????????/

hi buddy
well its got the 1.3l 16v in her and the 4wd light is not flashing
iv just been out in it againe and it seems like sometimes works n sometime dont? or are jimny's not as good as my sportrak as nealy got stuck in some wet muddy ruts where the sportrak pisses it every time
any info be welcom thanks

Are you sure both front wheels arnt spinning an not just 1? Remember they dont have a difflock.

yer i know they ant got difflock but only rear spins but when it dose work fronts both spin aswell seems to be hit and miss im thinking its them bloody air lockin hubs
do you know if my sportrak auto hubs will fit just to try????????

if it works sometimes it sound like the locking hubs - ditch them and fit these manual ones

o and do you use your hubs when in 4h aswell as 4l

You have to lock the hubs to get 4 anything, & with regard to your daihatsu auto hubs in my experience they can be as hit and miss as the air hubs. Best just go for a set of manual locking hubs such as the AVMs or SJ/Vitara with Martins spacers, then you know they are either locked or unlocked.

so what your saying is the hubs have to be locked to have any 4wd so if hubs dont lock in you will only have 2wd even when its in 4wd that right ?

In 4wd the front axle drives, but if the hubs aren't locked, the front wheels are not connected, so they get no drive.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

thanks very much all it must be hubs new ones on way happydays
off out to get stuck tonight lol o well got mates with me this time get the ropes out boys
