Squealing 'Fanbelt' and Blowing Exhaust

After changing the fanbelt and power steering belt I now have an annoying squealing from the front of the engine. The fanbelt had to be changed twice after the first new one melted! This was down to the alternator pully seizing and overheating the belt. Now after freeing it off with WD40 it now turns. In my head I am probably sure it is the alternator pulley causing the squealing is this most likely to be the cause or is it likely to be power steering pump?

Also since removing and putting back on the exhaust it is blowing from all the joints, is it customary to put 'joint paste' in the joins to properly seal it up before reassembly?

Use some paste on the backbox joint that's all i've used, but not the front joint they are spring loaded which use seal ring.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationWill this fit does anyone know?

Now thinking about getting an uprated alternator seeing as it's goosed. Was looking at high output GV 2.5V6 one but not sure what codes I need to be looking at to ensure it will fit my M13(non VVt) engine.

I dont like pointing the simple things out but are the new belts been adjusted properly?

Not enough tension and the belts will slip causing the noise...

It should turn 90 degrees no more no less

Yes belts tensioned up ok, I now think its the bearings on the alternator so gonna replace that and up the output from a higher output model if I can while im at it. I heard you can get upto 150A model that fits jimny. Has any body done this, if so do you have model nos etc please.

150 amp yeaks that will ring the arse out of the little 1300

I used a small amount of paste/high temp sealant on my new back box. However the genuine parts seal using a male/female type set up (male being the box side, female being mid-section)

I have seen pattern back boxes with just a basic flange that really need a gasket
