At a certain speed?  Could you have lost a balance weight from a wheel?

If it is at certain speeds there can be a few causes, but happening all of a sudden a thrown weight could definitely be the problem.
Is it a shuddering of the steering wheel, or the actual car bouncing up and down.
If your going up and down check to see if one of the shocks has broken free.
But I'd definitely put it in for a steering and suspension check. There's a few issues that could cause either, I've even had a worn uni joint suddenly go but still work that gave me fairly simple problems, get under and give it sgake to see if there's any play in them.
