Hello

Ive got the 2023 LDV Jimny going away with partner and dog in February im wondering if anyone has made a way for the dog to be safe in the back i.e not get hit by luggage etc without the use of a crate?

Cheers

The LCV makes an ideal vehicle for transporting all sorts of animals. There are plenty of fixing points to secure/restrain luggage and/or a dog without purchasing all sorts of very expensive products. I the event of a collision you don't want the dog or the luggage being thrown about and doing damage and/or distress. Suggest an appropriate cargo net with fastenings for the luggage and a harness/lead for the dog.

Mine is a gen3 with no back seats just a deck without a bulkhead but essentially the same thing as an lcv, I have attached a slightly stretchable lead to a D ring bolted to the upper rear seat belt mount this clips to Vimes' harness and is just long enough at full stretch for his nose to brush the back of my seat. Anything inanimate in there with him is stored in interlocking crates by Erbauer from screwfix.com and usually has my big work coat over it for padding.

Temeraire (2018 quasar grey automatic)
One of the last 200ish of the gen3s, probably.
