Hi All,
been Jimnying about and loving it, but as it was under warranty I took into my local garage because I get the tremor through the steering - it feels like when castors get a wobble on if you push them to fast. The car stays straight but it was pretty disconcerting.
Anyway, the front brake discs and pads were shagged out so they got done, and all the bearings and bushes are good apparently and it seemed better but it still has this tremor.
Any of you guys had this experience?
Thanks very much

+1 on the kingpin idea aka the dreaded death wobble.
throw and idea out there wheels need balancing, you could have shed a weight or two.

Kingpin bearing failure is so common with Jimnys it amazes me. I periodically try the front wheels for play and every time I go under the motor I fight the urge to check the front for oil leak at the dust seals.
Do it right - use Hammerite
When the blue light is flashing I am kidding.

OK I feel pretty embarrassed asking this (I am more versed with 2 wheels than four but can someone point to the king pins on a Jimny please - Photos would be great.
Many thanks

Go to the home page of the site. You will find some "How to" guides, one of which will be on how to change the king pins. It also has photos
