Has anybody broken the rubber transfer box mounts after replacing them with genuine suzuki rubber mounts. I know every one will recommend bolt through mounts but I'd rather stick to the rubber mounts if I can.

Just curious Rich why do you want to stick with the originals? I just ordered my gear set so I’m interested in pros and cons of all options.

Cheers
Ian

I'd rather use the rubber mounts to try an cut down on the noise and vibration through the transmission. I found this on youtube and thought if they can stretch 5 inches I'm unlikely to brake them if I buy some from suzuki, but their £22 each plus vat from the dealers so I think I'll try the jimny bits mounts.

I saw that video as well ... but every mount that ever broke (let me down) for me - they are the same make on SJ's - was a twist and not a pull-apart!!

Mosly, the bonding (rubber to metal) gives way.

I run the universal mounts on my modded jimny and my standard jimny and there is no noise or vibration
