When you register for the forum you have to enter an email address for the registration.
When you subscribed to a forum thread it uses that email address to mail you a message that a new posting has appeared in the forum. If the email address is no longer valid I get a "rejection" message in my email inbox. This has risen to quite a high level recently.
If i get a series of rejection emails for an address I will now temporarily disable the account so that I do not get flooded with rejections
