I'm going to look at a '98 Vitara GV1600 for sale later this week to use as a daily car for work and holidays etc. The reason I'm looking at this in particular is I want something that's good in the winter but better than the Jimny on the motorway. I'm lead to believe they're pretty reliable, and £1000 seems to buy a clean one...
Anything I should look out for? Any other vehicle I should consider? This would be my 5th Suzuki so they must be doing something right!

Hi
The two GV1600s I owned were pretty reliable apart from the Cats but apart from that they are good, 1600 is ok just make sure timing belt has been changed, gearbox and Tcase bombproof, I did blow the rear wheelbearings but I was running 30mm spacers, offset rims and 255/65R16 Muddies lol, eh antiroll bar bushes but Dave has those finally just check the sills for rust.
That's about it really
Eeeeee
