2023 Jimny was created by Tal
Hi all,

I join here under less than ideal circumstances.

My father in law died recently and had a 2023 Jimny with 2.5k on the clock.

We have little choice but to sell it, it is up in the usual places (wife's Facebook and scum tree) but thought I'd see if I can advertise it on owners forums.  However, I am an avid user of various forums (Motorbikes, fishing, coffee etc) and the thing they all have in common is that they dislike people joining up to solely use their classified sections.

So this post was a sort of introduction and to ask if you would be happy for me to advertise the Jimny here or not? If the answer is no. Then no problem.

I'd love to find a way to keep it for us but unfortunately the Jimny is rather niche and not quite ideal for a family of 3! If I did green landing etc I bet it would be a superb tool.

Anyway. Please let me know what you think and I'll either get it advertised or I won't!
Thanks all

I'd be happy to take valuation advice as well. I've priced it based on what others have been priced at. But that's all I have to go by.
Thanks

Could anyone offer any assistance with regards to pricing?

All of the offers I've had so far have been almost the same as what the Suzuki dealer has offered us. Is my asking price of £19.5k optimistic? What would be a fair price for a 2023 with 2.5k on the clock, brand new never used roof bars and the rear ladder. VAT is paid.

Thanks

Looks like a fair price to me. In fact it might be so fair that it’s actually doing the opposite and attracting the resellers as there maybe some profit in it.  On Auto trader most are up over 20k. Just entered your reg onto a buy it now site and that comes back at 17,275 which I guess is what dealers are offering you or slightly below that? So they would be looking to resell for the 20- 21k mark. You may actually wish to sit on it for a bit as there is a rumour that they are about to be discontinued any minute now so we may see prices firm up again and dealers already know this so are actually poaching for cars in readiness for this announcement but as I said it’s just a rumour…….

Yeah the supplying dealers offered us just under 17k to hand it over.
The offers have been 17 to 17.5k, but of course none are real offers in my opinion, given they haven't gotten off of their behinds to come and see the Jimny. Mere keyboard hagglers wjth irritating social media esque responses such as "best price", "lowest price?" Etc....

Some potential buyers have been saying a new one can be had for £22k. Pre reg I guess. Maybe Suzuki are clearing out in prep for a discontinued line up going by the link above.

Yeah so it’s just resellers after your car if they don’t come to view it. They would send a truck to pick it up the next day to then sell on. The news is out there now although not sure what it will do to used prices but will certainly keep them firm. I would hold out on your price and see what happens.

I'd like it for myself or for my wife. But it's both very valuable and not the most practical for us. But it's a very cool car id love to own!

My advice is to keep it for now, if you can. l hate the phrase, but prices can only go one way once production ends. Look at the 2018-20 SZ5. We're being offered £26,000 for our 2020 by online car buying sites.

At the moment, you're unlikely to get a great price because the Jimny LCV is still available new.
Business buyers can claim back the VAT which means effectively 20% off the new price.
With yours, they can't unless you are a VAT registered business selling it.

But once the stock of new ones dries up, l
think prices will rise.
