I'm new member here from Qatar. Picked up my Jimny 2019 aweek ago in Blue. It's a manual with black roof and overfenders.
In the middle east our options are pretty limited. I wish next patch gets better or close to euro/uk specs.
It does have halogen lights and regular key. No collision protection or a screen. I installed sand tires and Kenwood TM V71A Radio Transceiver for offroading.
Ordered FUJITSUBO exhaust from Japan and different stuff offered by suzuki as genuine accessories. Also bought a 9 inch screen with tyre monitoring and reverse camera. Will keep you guys posted on how everything turns out.
The JB73W is a great suv around town and offroad capable. On my bucketlist is to upgrade to LED front lights (From Japanresult) and get a turbo kit from f performance in dubai they made 173 whp on the dyno. we have the K15B engine.
I suggest having a new thread with people to share there mods on the JB74/64.

The day of the delivery

next day running sand tires and installed kenwood radio transceiver

Waiting for genuine side decals and grill to arrive from Japan. The exhuast is on it's way. Still thinking of the size of rays to order and what combo of tires i should get. I think TE37X comes 5.5 inches and 6,7 etc.. but what combo would fill the wheelwell and not going to scrape. i can trim the bumper if its required.

Very nice!
Have you had all the windows tinted, even the windscreen? I noticed you've also fitted another ariel, where did you run the coax for it?

I'm liking the blue and black, it looks clean.

Welcome to the forums Coldfire!

I was working in Al Udeid for a small amount of time. Phew! it was hot there! Hopefully the air-con on your nice looking Jimny can cope easily. Black roof too! ...HOT

Thank you. Yes i got all around tint and i ran the coax thru water rail at the top hidden and then thru a factory hole around the back door seal thru the inner roof linear and under the driver seat i installed the unit and ran the wires thru the dash board to mount the screen on top of the speedo. Very clean install and straight forward.

Hehehehehe I mostly go offroading in Al Udeid and Sealine during the winter when it's not too hot. I'm glad to report that the new Jimny AC has improved alot. Last generation had an issue but not anymore. too be honest my options were limited. I got a call from the dealer about the first 30 cars they got in the country and 6 of them were manual and sold. They only got this Jimny and i couldn't wait so i took it. the demand is so high they are selling in secondary market for 20-25% premium.

That's amazing!

I assume you must live in downtown Doha, or are you out in one of the smaller towns?

People over here will think to either buy a sand buggy like Polaris or Jimny. During the winter season prices of these things goes up and demand get higher.

I live around doha city. Anyway Qatar is small we can cross the country within 2 hours max.

I do appreciate the comments.

Wanted to give my feedback with regards to offroad performance. it's a very capable car but the reason I bought the car is to drive over the sand dunes. the tracation control won't stay off every time i go past 30km it reconnect. In the sand thats slows down already a slow car and the chances of getting stuck is higher. I tried pulling the ABS fuse with 25A. It turned all the lights on my dashboard and no power steering the 4WD won't engage.

I've done some research and there isn't a solution as per for the new Jimny. Some people used to disconnect the front speed sensor. I'll look for the sensor connection and try to see if it will work. If it does i will add a breaker and do a switch. Any thought gents for right way to tackle.

I once went dune bashing in Dubai on holiday and the driver lifted the bonnet to let the engine cool off, the engine and running gear was immaculate due to sand blasting.
My concern would be how the Jimny king pins and cv joints set up would stand up to sand blasting as they are not well sealed.

I don't know for certain but wouldn't a software patch be a better way round than unplugging random bits and pieces, a Jimny can't be the only car used locally that won't disable it's traction control there must be a regional specialist who can hack it?
