Another Jimny Owner here was created by Mumbo Jimbo
Hi, I'm Trev - I drive a 2002 Automatic Jimny with Aircon

At the moment it's pretty standard compared to some I've seen on here

215/75/15 BF Goodrich MT's on standard wheels
ARB Front bumper
ASFIR skidplate for the front diff
Wobbly steering wheel between 40 and 45 mph - but I see I'm not the only one with this problem  So far I've solved this problem by either driving below 40 or over 45 mph  Will need to check the Kingpins and front Bearings this weekend I think.

Need a lift soon as the front tyres seem to want to remove the front wheelarches when I get a bit carried away :silly: Want to fix the wheel wobble first though.

Hopefully some pics will appear below somewhere if I've done this right

Cheers :)

Would like mine to look more like yours by the time I'm finished with it! B)

Got the skidplate from offroad24.co.uk It reduces the ground clearance under the front diff a fair bit, but no lower than the brackets that the lower arms bolt to - not caused any problems so far.

You've got the beginnings of a nice little Jimny there. I look forward to seeing it with a lift on it, what height you thinking of lifting it? I like the look of the Off Road Armory 4.5" lift. You could fit some decent sized tyres then with a Rocklobster in time!

The Asfir skid plates seem quite good, although they can get bashed out of shape and need knocking back. That's the beauty of them though, they can get knocked back and they saved the component they were protecting. The diff guards might not be so dentable though given their shape.

I have a fuel tank guard from them and had a transfer box guard until I fitted my Rocklobster.

They're not cheap though - diff guards at over £200.00 each! No-one else has a bolt on solution though!

Keep the pictures coming as you modify it!

I like red Jimny's!!!;)

Cheers Kirkynut - have been looking at the ORA 4.5" lift too - does look good for the money.

The biggest problems I've come across while offroading the Jimny have bee a lack of ground clearance so bigger tyres seem to be the way to go. I'm planning on fitting 31" tyres too if they'll fit. So I've just picked up a 31" BF Goodrich MT KM2 to see how much higher I need to go.

Rocklobster would be cool too - as would a locking diff or 2, the want list is growing by the day.

Diff guard was pricey but I'm sure I paid less than £200 - seems solid enough though.

Will keep updating the pics as I go! :)

Don't speak to me about wanted lists - I'd have a full on challenge truck if I had my way - bit by bit you'll get a great truck together though.

The ORA 4.5" kit is a big chunk of money but I think it's the one to go for to prevent you wanting more in the future and it is complete so you'll not need to order anything else - apart from big wheels and tyres of course.

Good luck and I'll be looking out for the piccies or you using it aswell as it's build progress!!!

Cheers - The ORA kit seems to include all the bits needed to do a lift of that height properly.

Will keep the pics coming - hopefully with a lift kit installed with a bit of luck.
