Don't use wire :pinch: use an old credit card or dental floss and clean the old glue off with nail varnish remover

could try pouring water over it from a recently boiled kettle to soften it up first
and
WD40 is really good at removing sticky stuff (in case you don't paint your nails like dirtydogz)
