Got some Aisin manual hubs on the way, just need to order the spacer rings/bolts and we'll see if its any better power wise and mpg aswell.

The Vac system is controlled by 2 solenoids under the main fuses by the battery. there are small airfilters / vents on these and they can become blocked with mud / dirt etc.

or, of coruse you could damage one fo the pipes under the car which will result in no vacuum, so when you select 4x4, the front hubs will not "ping" and lock, and after 30 seconds, your 4x4 light on the dash will flash, indicating a fault.

Aisin hubs have arrived, just need the bigjimny shop to open so i can order the adaptors now.

Am i right in thinking i can change the hubs with the wheels in place, no need to jack it up, etc?
