Rust killed my original bump stop, resulting in body damage when the wheel got pushed too far in and up. Pushed the fender into the door and as i was stuck in very deep mud I could not open the drivers door and had to open the passenger door and bent the edge of the fender where it hit the door.
Chicks dig body damage so I'll live with that, might straighten it a bit and add some paint or something to the body.
The center tube inside the spring in the top has rusted out and broken and the rubber was loose inside the spring.
I will be replacing the steel tube so it again can center the spring in the seat and hold the rubber. There will be welding and maybe a bolt thru the center.
Hoping to find steel tube that fits at work, looks like 60 or 63mm hydraulic tube might fit just fine.
I can see some store offers the complete weld in piece with the spring seat but that would mean ordering and high cost. also there is alternative bump stops but I have the bottom extensions from trailmaster so I do not need to extend the top as well.
Does anyone have any tips, anyone seen any aftermarket stuff that looks good or any enhancement here to do that is smart?

There is not so much rust so I will just remake the pipe piece that the rubber hangs on to. Tried ordering the original rubber piece but not available or in stock here so I bough a similar rubber thing from a parts store together with a rubber seat for the spring. I will have to wait for those to come before doing the metal work so I get the correct lenghts. Will post pictures when the job is done.
I must say it is a pretty stupid construction with no place for water to escape when it gets inside the cup that holds the rubber piece. It will not be reconstructed like that. There is nothing left of it on the right side but still some on the left so I wll be able to measure the correct length.

Be worth checking your shock on the corner where the bump stop failed - if the axle lifted enough to stuff into the bodywork I guess your shock will have hit full compression hard and may also be damaged/failed. Just a thought. Good luck

Wich is a pain as I cannot get the Trailmaster replacments here in Norway now when Germans cannot be trusted to send to Norway anymore.
I tried to order but after two months of waiting i got my money back.
Just recently ordered spring spacers from Ukraine on ebay, got here in less than two weeks and was sent from Germany so I dunno what the problem is.
Still waiting for other parts to rebuild.

Of course, checked and looks and feels OK. But might fail prematurely later.Be worth checking your shock on the corner where the bump stop failed - if the axle lifted enough to stuff into the bodywork I guess your shock will have hit full compression hard and may also be damaged/failed. So this is how it turned out in the end.
Just one side now but got parts to do the other side if it breaks.
