What colour antifreeze should I use? was created by Vandoni
I noticed my coolant is terrible and will flush the system as instructed in the maintenance manual, what colour antifreeze should I use?
also I'll keep the 50/50 blend ratio since the temps here go under -10 C in the winter.

If you're giving it a good flush
any type will be ok
because you will not be mixing different types

Wouldn't the wrong colour damage gaskets or something like that? I heard that you should use the recommended color but in the manual it says that any is good as long as its base is etyhil glycole or smth like that

So with the Jimny it doesn't really matter what I use as long as I clean really well beforehand?
also the expansion tank has this yellowish "sludge" inside and sticking on the little rod connected to the expansion tank cap, should I be worried?

do you have the yellow ish sludge inside the oil filler cap too
any anti freeze will be ok ..........just don't mix with other types ( red with red, blue with blue, green with green)
yellow sludge could be caused by condensation from short runs
OR failing head gasket

Nah the oil cap is perfect, it's just the expansion tank that is terrible and the coolant is stinky and brownish in colour, so I'll change it

I'll just put it under water and soap, it should get cleaned I think XD, for the cap? How should I clean it? Is removing it an option?

Alright, coolI'll just follow the instructions on the manual and clean the tank as much as I can, I bought 6 L of Petronas paraflu (red) and it should be good for 125C so that's good
