GEN 4 Wing mirror trashed

Some git in a range rover evoke just drifted across the centre line and destroyed my drivers mirror.
I've just removed the assembly by torch light, so it's no longer dangling by the wires.
The mirror itself is broken and the main swivel post is sheared.
Any chance I can get parts, or is it going to be a complete assembly? and any ideas on the cost?
Cheers  :( :(

Struth! That must have been a close shave - glad its only the mirror and nothing worse!
I'd put money on itt the scumbag was texting on the phone - I see it every day. Watched some stupid girl go straight up the back end of someones car in Witney just two days ago - She was texting or at least reading texts or something on her phone.

There's a lot to be said for dash-cams - you'd have his reg number.

Oh no. Is this the forum's first gen4 rtc? Glad it's just a mirror.

A new complete mirror from your dealer will be around £200 which is probably the way to go. Don't throw away the broken one, it can be fixed. You can drill the post and squeeze in a 1.5mm machine screw and you'll find a mirror glass on ebay.
I've tried the chinese copies on a Gen3 and whilst cheap they are not quite right.
The heater/ demisters haven't got enough power and the preset angles don't seem right.

My thoughts were to a fix of some kind for a back up.
I didn't mention that the offending vehicle sped off as I did a three point turn in heavy traffic. I gave chase, but wasn't about to get silly and turned around to retrieve the broken mirror plate. Wasn't sure if the heater part was reusable if I could stick a plain mirror on.

Pity you couldnt get the number.
I swear by dash-cams having seen something similar happen to a colleague of mine who was almost a victim of a "crash for cash incident". He handed the footage to the police who were very, very pleased.

Hopefully, those type of scum live very long and extremely unhappy lives

Chap at work said similar regarding dash cams.
Have ordered a new mirror assembly, was just shy of £155, so no at bad as I was fearing.
