I need to be able to carry a mountain bike on the roof of my jimny possibly in the future four bikes.
I know the roof rails can not carry much weight due to the end sections being plastic.
Has anyone found a way of doing this?

There is a polish company that makes a very neat roof basket thing which is much stronger. If your handy its fairly easy to make some stronger cross rails instead that can bolt onto the existing studs (or get a fabricator to make some?).
Dont got for the mounting on the spare wheel type of bike rack as that will do for the back door with more than one very light bike on it. something that attaches to a towbar maybe?
