More force than I could apply. Once tried to make a flower pot (Blue Peter style) out of an old Morris Minor wheel - gave up in the end.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

In The Olden Days I used to drive over the tyre close to the rim, took a few goes usually.
I have seen a curved foot for the hi-lift that is supposed to pop the tyre off if you hook the jack under the front bumper of a defender and lift it off the floor.
Nowadays I take them to a tyre fitter and get them changed over.

I was thinking of lowering my Mitsy on to the tyre. I just want to put a new valve in so need to break the seal in one spot.

What do they charge you for changing a valve?

Few quid. Not worth doing yourself.
