Bad vibration solved!!!

I've just had the clutch changed at my local trusted garage, it's too cold to do it in my lock up and it's not as simple as an SJ - the gearbox fouls on the welded chassis cross brace - removable on an SJ - and to bring the gearbox back far enough, it hits this brace.

Anyway ... I had a bad vibration before 65 mph and put it down to it being the tyres out of balance - I had them balanced but the older and experienced guy at my trusted tyre specialist explained that Colway Remoulds can not be fully balanced and he got them as close as possible.

My local garage found a gearbox mount was completely shot though and replaced it as a matter of course - and there went my vibration. It's lovely now at any speed - save for a tiny amunt of steering wheel vibration which I'm not going to complain about.

Sods law has just made my driver's side CV start clicking when reversing into my garage at full lock though - that may be linked to removing the anti roll bar today though as I think it allows a little more movement in the steering. I've not long rebuilt both steering knuckles putting new grease in the CV's, so we'll have to see how it goes and I'll not wind on quite so much lock on for a bit!!!
