I guess there maybe some fancy maths behind it using Pi and radius and circumference etc. but basically you can improve the turning circle using wheel spacers or offset wheels, if nothing else it moves them out further so they dont hit the end stops so soon. It does work, my cat came fitted with posh Spidertrax spacers and it makes a noticeable improvement to the turning circle.
Downside is the extra strain on the axle components. The greater offset increases the wear forces on the wheel bearings etc.
I am interested in the number of CV joints you have got through as I am about to start trialling, is it harder on the vehicles than normal play and play? Or do you have a heavy right foot
