Hi there,
Mine is lifted 3 inches with KAP kit. It was done when I bought it and I bought it from KAP.
It appears that the Pro-Comp rear o/s shock has rubbed on the spring and uprated panhard rod at some point and the previous owner has spaced it out on it's bush with Penny Washers to stop it rubbing. Martin is trialling a new bracket to solve this problem and D+G Tuning sell a more expensive version.
If I were to modify a Jimny from scratch myself though, I think I would lift it 2 inches on springs and 2 - 2.5 inches on a body lift. This is however, a bit more expensive. The reason I would do it this way is that it eliminates any problems with the springs and shocks and gives more of a lift without it all being in the suspension, thus in my view making the vehicle a little more stable.
This could be at the expense of a little articulation as the shocks for a 2 inch lift would have to be shorter to stop the shorter springs coming out.
Look at the pictures of mine in the Gallery as I got loads of articulation out of my 3 inch KAP kit in the lakes this year.
Also look at the comparison Martin has put on the site showing several different brands of lifts on members cars.
If you can, read the article on Rhinoray's Jimny in TOR, I think he has a copy on his website still.
Hope this helps.
