I saw that earlier on, and it's been discussed here before, some of us, me included, feel it's not a practical proposition.
Something else that I came across this morning, that is not Jimny specific, but EV related, and that needs to be taken into consideration by anyone developing or even owning an electric off roader - what are the chances of getting it wet.
I was looking at "hurricane prep" advice, and one such piece of advice is to park your EV outside and away from the garage, and to avoid driving it through floodwater.
Hurricanes might not be a problem in your corner of the world, I'm pretty certain the folks up in the BlueRidge mountains didn't think they need to worry, Hurricane Helene sure changed their minds.
Hurricanes are not usually a problem where I am, but I've driven through flood waters too many times to keep track of...
I still think it will be a while before we see another one and we certainly won't be seeing the 5 door. I think Suzuki dropped it as they and other manufactureres simply don't know what to build at the moment. Politics want them to build things that simply the public can't or don't want due to cost, resale values and infrastructure going foward. I've noticed in the past few months several manufacturers delaying their EV plans probably in the hope that a clearer direction for the future emerges and some are even still bringing out combustion engines. Aston have just released a V12 vanquish and at one point it looked like end for those engines but I think manufacturers are starting to turn their back to politics and will build cars they know people want and they can sell. Lets hope others follow this approach and we get the Jimny back.
Land Rover have just released the Defender "Octa" with a sodding great V8 producing more power than the vehicle will ever need.
And take-up has been very good, with a waiting list already.
