Unusual Air Filter was created by Velocette
I've just changed the air filter on my 2016 gen3 which I bought fully serviced from a dealer at 19000 miles. Its done just 40000 miles now and was time for a thorough service. I got a new Suzuki filter, which looks nothing like the one I removed. Anyone seen these before ?

The one you took out looks like a standard filter with a bit of vacuum cleaner filter stuck on top

The filter design is the same as those for a Defender and is for a Jimny with 1.3l petrol and 1.5l diesel engines. The Mann part number on the filter replaces Suzuki air filter part number 13780-81A00, 13780-82A00, 13780-81A00-000, 13780-82A00-000, 13780-81AU0, 13780-81AU0-000.

It could be as you say, a modified standard filter but the corrugations are much closer and the adhesive under the extra filter material looks factory done.
