Chassis and inner wings - paint

Now my Japanese Front Bumper is fitted a lot more of my chassis and inner wings are visible. Even though my car is only 3 years old it’s got signs of rust on the chassis and towing eyes.

As my car is yellow / green I’m not sure what paint to use as I can’t seem to find any colour coded chassis paint. I was wondering if anyone else has had the same issue?

Thanks

David

I used a black bitumen to cover over my tow bracket.
Whilst i'm on, can you give me the spec. of the bumper you bought.

Cheers.

Roger

There is a tintable version of Upol raptor bed liner that is immensely robust and covers well.

The more robust it is, the more it chips and cracks and can form pockets where moist and dirt gather to make rust. The softer and more forgiving and flexible it is the better it can prohibit rust making it more difficult for the moist and dirt to get to the paint. But then less robust against wear and tear.
Well that is the theory. Some have bad experience on the Upol and some have better. I would not use it as a undercoating but something more flexible. For stonechip or as a bedliner or to make it look good if you want the rugged look, oh yes,.

I've used a basic bitumastic paint for many years. In cold weather it is best warmed up but goes on nice and thick and it's flexibility prevents it chipping. The thickness will help to deaden noise.

I’ve ordered some WAR from Buzzweld, hopefully it’ll do the trick. Just gone for black and given up on the idea of keeping the yellow on the chassis. I’m hoping all black will look better

Hi Roger so the bumper is made by Showa garage, it’s fibreglass in construction and is meant to have been made in the factories as major car makers bumpers. The fit in terms of holes lining up etc was spot on.

it came painted in matt black which isn’t an exact match to the wheel arches but pretty close.
