Hello all,

Can anyone recommend a specialist to fit the OME 2" lift kit around Guildford (Camberley/Farnborough) area please? And where to get the kit for a good price?
I'm not feeling confident enough to undertake the install.

Thank you

Marc

Hi, I bought me OME lift kit from  BUZZ SPECIAL VEHICLES  and fitted it my self, they will fit it for you and they are not too far away looking a Google Maps.

STORM CUSTOMS  will also supply/fit, but they will be probably too far for you.

Thanks for the links.
Does the kit contain instructions? If not, what is the correct orientation of the castor correction bushes? Did you have to replace the brake lines?
Thank you again!

Yes, the kit came with full instructions.
I replaced all four brake lines with Goodridge extended hoses.
The instructions show the orientation of the castor bushes. To be honest, you don't really need to fit them. I didn't at first as I wanted to see if they did make any difference, so drove a few months on standard bushes. With the correction bushes fitted it did make the self centering a bit quicker or did I imagine it, it was such a slight difference.

Mine is just the standard 40mm lift though, if you are going 50mm then the difference might be greater. I could add the 10mm spring spacers, but I'm happy as it is.

Thank you Soeley for your replies. I’m really keen to get this set up, as the Jimny is now my only car and work commitments require me to travel 80 miles twice a week. Based on people’s experiences that I’ve read on here, on-road driving has improved significantly, albeit likely due to the uprated shock absorbers. I might order from the links you provided.
Thanks Martin for reminding me about Challenger 4x4 in Tongham. They fitted my tree sliders for my Heritage in 2015. Good knowledgeable guys. Their neighbours gave me evils though as parking was along the road.
Will update when I get this done.
Thanks again and keep safe.

So today I fitted Bilstein shock absorbers from Jimnystyle. It took me 4 hours as I took my time understanding what I was supposed to be doing, with safety the primary focus. Instead of jack stands, I used a stack of 2ft long sleepers, with a trolley jack as back up. Straightforward process, albeit fiddly for the right-rear corner as there 's a wiring mount that needed to be unbolted and set aside to enable access to the top shock absorber mount. All bolts torqued to 90Nm, apart from the front top nut that I tightened just enough to compress the rubber bushing.
Took it for a 40 mile drive straight after and I am happy with the way it handles. Not as much dip when going around corners, and just a more stable drive.
I replaced the shocks only as I don't need the lift, for now.
