Any Celica fans out there? was created by JodieMarie22
For a while now, I have been looking for alternative options to the Jimny
.
It has become clear to me that a Jimny is not everything I need/want and so have come close to selling a few times for something a bit faster...
But don't worry! I am still a proud Jimny owner.. But just with a 2001 Gen 7 imported (in 2003) celica SS-II 190 as well
Anyone have experience with one?

I am a fan and always liked them.We have a Toyota MR2 MK2 G-Limited jap import and every job on it is a royal pain in the a*"e, so assume the Celica will be the same
The good news is they are Toyota so generally reliable and fast, great fun. No much help, but hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoy ours. Here is a pic (any excuse - sorry it's not lifted and that articulation is awful)
Any pictures?
Hope no one minds the none Jimny picture, look away now if it offends, you aren't being forced to look

That's cool! I know a lad with a tuner company up here who had 500hp out of one of those. Bit of a handful!

No good piccies yet as its always dark when I can take some!
The plans for it so far is to wrap it in the celica bright yellow, change the oil, clean up the fuel tank and sort out the electrics. It has a habbit of telling me I'm doing 0mph on the motorway!

Sounds like a plan of action. Clean oil always a good idea, cheap enough. The filter on the MR2 is made from unreachium, it really needs a 4 post lift to access or volumes of expletives if you don't have one. If yours is the same pay someone else to do it.
Photos before / after the wrap if you get chance, never seen under the bonnet or one close up, really interested in what it's like.
How are u finding parts? I've found a good specialist (MR2 Ben), assume they exist for the Celica?
Have fun.

Here she is. Don't really want to show a close up until I've tried to at least tame the terrible paint work.. But she is 20 years old.
Decided to not wrap, just going to drive her as an old banger and maintain where necessary.
My in-house mechanic (dad) has given her a full service which made a massive difference straight away. Feels a lot more powerful and smoother.
Haven't really needed to look for any parts as of yet but sure we'll find somewhere as I have joined the celica forum.

Nice, hope you enjoy it. They have that magic "fun to drive" element that's missing from so many modern vehicles, it's the same je ne sais quoi that makes the Jimny fun.
