I used a high mounted plastic side mount and , from memory, got an SWR reading of around 1.1.

Front bumper area or the middle of the roof is probably the best place for an antenna?
But I want to drive into my garage so the roof is not so easy to use.
Magnet is not an option as it Just falls off when driving thru trees.

I removed my CB because of the antenna problem. I haven't got a solution for it.

Hi Zakuza.

With my side mount it was but a few seconds to unscrew the aerial and stow inside the motor. Only put in back on green lane trips. The aerial was a flex. type so survived banging/bouncing off trees etc.
