Thank you Martin.

Had I kept my Gen4, it would have been down for both re-calls.

This may explain some of the erratic behaviour I was getting with the door key!

My little zook is due the door harness recall also, they've ordered the parts and are going to coincide the recall work with the next scheduled service. Impressed with Howards Group Suzuki in W-S-M North Somerset :D

I've had The Call, mine is dues the door harnesses, but misses the fuel pump by a few hundred- I hope their traceability is spot-on

Fuel pump (materials swelling) smells like it will be a elastomeric materials issue (ethanol resistance) for when E10 appears at the pumps in August IIRC.

Since The Disease We Don't Talk About mine isn't doing many miles, so I've been running it on Esso Supreme, which is zero ethanol ;)

I've seen what ethanol does to the plastic in-tank filter on a Guzzi (it swells to about double size, and if it bursts there is no fuel pressure), my Guzzi runs on Esso Supreme too. (I'm copying  my hero Allen Millyard....)

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

Ethanol is killing a lot of classic cars, it perishes the rubber fuel hoses spraying petrol over the engine.

Local dealer once again failing to impress. No contact from them, rang today to check and....

"Hi, I understand there's two recalls for my car, here's the reg number, I've got the recall references if that would help?"

"uhhhh, we don't know anything about it, wait for a letter from Suzuki".

I dropped mine off at my dealer last night and picked up a courtesy car (Swift), they rang me at 11:40 this morning to say it was ready for collection. Went down swapped keys back over and drove home. Couldn't be a simpler experience really.
