Until prices for the Jimny Gen 4 come down from the £25,000+ currently being asked for used examples, it would take a highly upstanding dealer to put out their one Commercial version a month at the list price.
Sadly there aren't many of those dealers about. But on the other hand, who in their right mind would sell a vehicle for £20,000 when it would sell for £25,000+
The high prices are due to demand and people with lockdown money sat in their accounts.
As long as people are prepared to pay the money, the dealers will sell for those prices.
The high priced ones (£25,000+) seem to be hanging around. lt will be interesting to see if those Commercials sell at £27,995
lf it's a business purchase and the business is VAT registered,
With the VAT and tax off that will be around £14,000
So they may sell even at £27,995
And l bet residuals will be great, much better than any small van.
Another issue is, if you sell them at list price you'll get people clogging up the waiting lists buying them to immediately sell on at a profit, so you can't win.

After a discussion this weekend we have ordered one this morning. We are number 4 on the list at the dealer so no rush.

No chance. Fortunately Mrs Axholme works there. Having said that the dealer in question has only ever sold them at around the proper price in any case. Some are taking the micky, but not all. I see a lot for sale at £27K but do they ever actually sell?

Why the -ve towards the dealer channel?
I have been offered two cars at list price today and my only only issue has been the limited colour choice.
The first, in bling yellow offered this morning is not to my taste so I’ve gone for Ivory and September delivery… very pleased.
I will need some advice nearer delivery time to upgrade the stereo to CarPlay and add some decent seat covers.
