31k? I paid almost half tha for my sz4t lol.
If I had 31 I'd be down the Honda dealership looking for a civic type r.

I guess it's speculators buying them and sticking them in heated garages now. Keep it for 10 years and see it up on the four star classics website for 50k.

The biggest worry for me is that some idiot runs into mine and writes it off. I'll never get another :(

Well, you were very lucky. By the time l bought ours (l had been on the waiting list for over a year with no luck so had to buy privately)
the best l could do was £24,000 although that was for an SZ5 in Kinetic Yellow with extras
Still £4,000 over list.
Not sure of future values, l guess a brand new one kept in storage may appreciate in value.
l could certainly sell ours for what l paid, had three genuine offers already.
Even at £24,000 it's better value than a regular car, such as the £24,000 VW T-Roc we were going to buy, which would have lost around £6,000 in value already.

As for replacement in case of a total loss, your insurance should pay out the cost of a replacement of the same
make/model

lf not you could try a specialist insurance company, such as Adrian Flux, who will do Agreed Value on more modern vehicles.
You would have to discuss with them if they would insure it for the current replacement cost of £20-24,000

I was worried about total loss as I paid £24k with the extras. Took out Gap Insurance so hope if I had a total loss I might have enough to replace it although if prices keep going up even that won;t be enough to cover the potential replacement cost.

Dealer prices seem on a roll at the moment, l doubt they will continue to rise.
l think in time prices will fall, who would pay £30,000? The Jimny is a great little 4x4 but it isn't THAT good !!

Looking on Auto Trader there are about ten Jimnys on sale with private sellers at under £24,000
Some have been on sale a few weeks.

Yes but it surely won't sell.

They are just having a laugh at that money.
