Hi
Dose anyone know how the power door locks work on the new jimny
Do the work of Can cummunication or 12v signal
I had a look at my drivers side lock and it has 5 wires coming out of it i had assumed 2 for the lock motor a commmon and a contact for lock and unlock
I am looking for the signal sent back to the BCM from the lock and unlock
any help would be great

Had a look at the wiring as suggested
And it seem to look fin on the meter
However bridging the black and red or purple did not seem to trigger the central locking not sure why as this is what the key seems to do

I assume the bcm looks for other conditions as well to ensure its a valid request.

If it was me l'd hook in a separate new circuit to power the locks. Protect the existing wiring using diodes where necessary. A proper wiring diagram should help.

Yes you are correct I did want to avoid this but I ended up makeing a circuit to power the lock diectly and retain the factory function using 3 DTDP relays and 2 Diodes. and Finaly my new system is installed with push button start and pasive key entry.
