Why oh why does the Philipines Jimny get a nice head unit option with lovely toys such as this:
They also seem to get an option of red display between the dials, shown on
auto.suzuki.com.ph/all-new-jimny
. I wonder if that's a tweakable setting on UK models.
They're not real photos so it's unlikely the central display is red in any market. Chances are the red was the design choice, but when it progressed sufficiently through 'productionisation' they opted to use the existing display from other models.
The inclinometer looks neat. Could be an app that could be loaded onto other units.
Or it could be a cheap Chinese head unit added to a basic model, similar to the SZ4 upgrade people are doing in the UK but as a dealer fit option . Similar to the Sony units in early gen3 models in UK

Interesting what AlexK said, I've had a quick look on the android play store and found this
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=co...ev.offroadincl&gl=GB
which looks to have Jimny models. Not quite as swish looking as the original photo but with android auto compatibility, and likely similar in Apple store, could utilise the phone sensors to provide similar information.
zukebob, I'll be interested to hear back what you find out if you get chance
Decided I was too curious to wait for 3 weeks so went to Suzuki Quezon Ave. Asking the dealer, the inclinometer is an app that is built into the infotainment system on the GLX model. But if it makes anyone feel better, here in the tropics we don't get heated seats. Although the dealerships here don't have any information about possible add-ons in other market areas, it wouldn't surprise me if getting the inclinometer installed would be possible. As others have indicated, they are somewhat of a gimmick (toy) so might not actually be worth the effort. I have an app on my head unit that has a compass and the latency between satellite and GPS (although minor) makes it so that the compass is always trying to catch up.
Biggest problem from my dealership trip is that my daughter (who just graduated and now wants a car) has decided she wants a Jimny.

One of my previous head units allowed the user to upload their own apps on to it, that would be a nice feature, if possibly dangerous letting users loose. I noticed the controls surrounding the headunit on the Philippines model are different to the UK spec ones so I wonder if it's a different model entirely with different capabilities. I like the simplified look of it though for choosing the modes, rather than the four quadrant setup with the UK setup. It'd be interesting to know if it's fundamentally the same SLDA Bosch derived unit.
Easy to criticise despite there being some useful functionality in the units we already have.
Sorry for a delayed response Hanslow. Glad I could help.
Based on your original post I should have also mentioned that the dash illumination is red. The color isn't changeable.
If you wanted to add things as shown in the original picture, I would revisit Martins comment. It is already easy to find Android head units for the 2019 Jimny through Aliexpress.
The Chinese units have never gained much traction on the forum. Most likely due to quality concerns. I have owned 2 and doubt that I would go with anything else. It would certainly open up a whole world of useless (fun) apps.
