New Jimny - UK was created by mlines
Look out for a BigJimny UK launch event at a Dealer in the Autumn. Remember this is THE forum to be with!

First UK official pictures, I know you have seen them around the net but the excitement is that these are official UK released so the anticipation is real.

[Leak alert!] UK INFO - Prepare your cheque books for November 2018 and get the orders in early as UK supplies are possibly limited.[/Leak alert!]

Great photos! If you click on them you can zoom in and around...

The chassis looks a little different in places? Hmmm... will old mods fit the new Jimny / chassis?!

I'll have a blue one please... ;)

Great photo's Martin! I'll have a white one with a black roof please  The dark green is a close second as well.

The chassis springs, shocks, radius arms and t-box look similar, the rest is pretty different. Body mounts are different and the support under the gearbox looks likley to make swapping the box tricky, but maybe easier to do the clutch. Theres no turbo on that engine, so perhaps a 1500cc n/a is looking promising.

The gearstick shows 5 and im sure i have seen a pic somewhere that had what looked like a manual stick for the transfer box in the expected place. Should be easy enough to sort out a lower geared t-box that would fit in there :-)

Great pics Martin. I am going to act like an ignoramus now but is this front wheel drive with selectable four wheel drive.
Do we have any dimensions available?

Do it right - use Hammerite

I have not seen any dimensions but looking at the chassis it looks almost identical to the current model. I would guess that there are some dimension changes as it has to meet new safety standards.

The transmission is classic jimny. Rear wheel drive with part time 4WD selection. A leaked picture shows a manual transfer lever so the electric change appears to have gone. Whilst the purists will love it, I think the high street market would expect permanent 4WD such as an Alldrive transmission. I hope for jimny sales that they do offer that in some markets.

PS I can see what you mean about FWD but perhaps the prop is not fitted as there are definitely other bits missing from the picture anyway

I think the front prop is hidden behind the centre prop in the picture. There's a chassis view from a different angle in this you tube video at 0.43
