That strap from machine mart is ok. But I dislike the idea of a heavy metal shackle in between 2webbing straps. Would prefor threading the bridle strap through the loop on the end of ,say a5metre strap for recovery. Less chance of damage if a strap breaks.

CB isn't essential but useful provided the marshalls have them or enough people have them to call for help, just ask at the gate what channel to use. Easy to throw one in and use a mag mount( a big base though not the piddly taxi ones ) just be mindful you could lose it if you hit a branch.
Use a bridle as already suggested but loop the other end of the strop over it and not a shackle imho. Typical school boy error with shackles - don't tighten right up, tighten then back off a touch. Look up damar webbing for good value straps and i personally use blue pin shackles.
Take some water for cleaning your lights and plates to keep dibble happy and its always handy for washing your hands etc... keep some clean rags of course for the same reasons.
I always suggest for first timers at a site, talk to some regulars and either bag a passenger ride round or get someone to sit in to show you the site, walking the site is still best before any of that though.
Stay off the brakes you should very very rarely need to touch them, on descents hit your heels against the seat runners to keep them away from the controls.
There's loads more advice on some threads on here. Take your time and enjoy it though the jimny will perform better than you'll imagine!

When driving round the site, to avoid slipping the clutch. Use low box 2nd gear. That advice was given to me and it has not let me down.
