I get lots of intermittent irritating noises from the passenger side of Temeraire. Fortunately I can kick my wife or dad out of the car for some peace and quiet!

"Bong" said Zebedee, "blast said Florence, that annoying noise is back!"
Got my brother in law to jump around this time whilst I lay under the Jimny - Yes it's definitely the rear passenger side spring, no it's not broken.
So this time I unloaded the spring, jiggled it around to shake off any rust, and sprayed it with oil and lithium grease. Test drive suggests "bong" has gone, only time will tell.
I also serviced the Jimny and checked transmission levels, never that much to do and it only cost £16 for oil / filter and 30 minutes of my life. It struck me that if I sprayed lithium grease over the door hinges and made the inside smell like a tarts purse with dash shine, it's at least a £250 dealer service!
Went inside and ask the better half for the cash, can't post the answer

I can recommend the Jimnybits ones! The OS is a bit fiddly to mount though, and you will need a bloody strong drill bit! I used an 11mm cobalt bit, and drilled 4mm pilot holes. Slow speed on the drill and not too much pressure, the chassis is bloody hard!

Getting concerned with the increasing number of Jimny thefts I have bought a Stoplock Pro for the steering wheel.
I did a bit of a Google for the top 5 Steering Lock and this one (along with the Pro Elite*) came top.
* Stoplock Pro Elite has a deeper bend in the arm.
Edit: I have just read the instructions and they recommend fitting it with the black casing (lock) at the bottom of the steering wheel.

I have one of those for my Jimny. Its alright as a visual deterrent and will slow them down a little. I have removed one myself in a carpark with a hacksaw I had just purchased from Halfords, plenty of strange looks, no one asking what I was doing!
This is --- A) a sad reflection on the "don't get involved" society, I looked a lot rougher than I really am, or C) a bit of both.
Don't loose the key or you to can find out how long the take to cut off.
Mine sometimes pushes in the horn whilst being fitted, makes me jump every time, not sure mine will fit bit at the bottom, arm hits windscreen.

Like you say it is a deterrent. If they really want your vehicle they will get it. But if it is quick take in any vehicle then making your less promising helps.
It does fit mine the other way, that is one bad thing with the Nautilus horn, when you press it accidentally
