With THANKS to Martin and James, all the parts are now here to sort the Boogie -
Martin
2 rear brake pistons and new shoes - the nearside piston has gone pissing brake fluid all over the pads, so I figured it's best to swap both pistons, and renew the pads...
2 radiator hoses - the bottom hose has split, so I thought it best to swap both bottom and top hoses.
James
In conversation with James about parts for the next buggy "lil'bugga", he offered me some very reasnably priced new callipers for the second buggy, so in the end I ended up asking for...
6 front brake callipers (cleared him out!) so 4 for lil'bugga and 2 for the Boogie - if I'm replacing the rear pistons and the front callipers were so reasonable I thought I might as well do them at the same time, as I'll be bleeding anyway...
More after repairs on Sunday... but just to let you know I'm still around, just been busy and a bit quiet on here of late...

Yeah I know what you mean Dave. Makes me think about what must be involved in having a youtube channel. I watching a bit of Matt's Revevory and they must have someone full-time making video.

The head gasket seems to have gone again... it will be passed back to the garage who did the head gasket work to investigate and remedy...

That's irritating to say the least. It's got to be some kind of record that for distance covered from time of fitting to failure.

A quick update on the buggy…
James (Priestley) contacted me on Saturday morning for some metric fine nuts for one of his latest builds, and asked what he owed me… so I said “some advice!”…
Si I described the issues with the head on the buggy and he immediately asked, “we’re the head bolts reused or replaced…”
Long story short, the garage are redoing the head…
MANY THANKS to James ince again!…

Frustrating but also encouraging, if the bolts were stretched and that caused the issue, at least you can be sure that it is repairable....
Can you make the 10th ?

My run of bad luck continues... the Boogie buggy has been recovered four times already, and on Wednesday - with the buggy in the garage having it's head re-done, I decided to get out in the NGV and take the dogs for a nice walk by a local reservoir...
Coming back, first the battery light came on, and then the temperature started rising... I pulled over and discovered the water pump pulley had sheared and gone all floppy, that had taken the belt off, which had stopped the alternator charging, so I rang my mate's recovery firm...
Me : "Hi Toby, it's Dave"
Toby : "Hello mate, what do you want? Your buggy is in the garage next door"
Me : "Would you believe I'm in my road car?"
Toby : "Where are you mate?"
Me : "Outside the Shell station in Denbigh"
Toby : "One of the trucks will be with you in twenty minutes Dave"
You couldn't make it up?
So both my vehicles are off the road awaiting repairs...
I'd buy a bicycle, but the wheels would probably fall off knowing my current luck?!
So excuse me if I'm quiet on the board for a bit, I'll be back soon though!
