I have read the full page from dutton and whilst it makes mention of axle suck and suitable ventilation of the case it doesn't make any mention of the front swivels being made water tight, which is likely to be an issue with the existing seals only being for dust? Are they just increasing the service intervals to say every full 20 hours under water or have they come up with a modification to preserve the cv and kingpin assembly, beyond over packing with waterproof grease?

They appear to be used un-modified, it also appears that they manually lock the hubs and do away with the vacuum system. I would have thought it might be useful to pressurised the swivel using the vacuum system or provide a fresh-water flush through the vacuum system to flush out the hubs from salt water.

I've got one of these already. Needs a lot of maintenance but can be great fun. I went round the canals in Amsterdam last month.

Let us know how you're getting on.

There are a lot of vehicles in this, but there's a yellow Dutton (slightly older model) at 6:32.

The lorry in the picture next to the Dutton is flying the wrong flag :)

Once it enters the water it should display the red ensign as part of the United Kingdom Merchant fleet.

Hi all! Sorry about the delay in replying! Life has been very busy for both myself and Dutton! The build of the hull has been running late but the good news is, I'm collecting the hull this Friday!

Basically it’s just more maintenance, but i do have a few idea around slightly pressuring the axles etc. Also the CV joint is filled with marine grade grease.
