SJ Transfer Case Breather was created by nzJim
G'day all,

I was fitting up my SJ crawler into the jimny this morning with a 90 degree elbow off the breather so the hose wouldn't crimp... but now there's not enough clearance above the breather and it hits the transmission tunnel when I try and put the rubber bushes back in under the brackets.

So... I really don't want to have to drill and tap the breather spigot thing as I'd have to strip the box and flush the swarf out. Any clever ideas out there from those that have 'been-there-done-that'?

I could take a ball-peen hammer to the underside of the tunnel but I don't think I'd get enough clearance still.

Any help would be well appreciated. Cheers.

that would work but I'd rather drill, tap and rebuild the box than lift it. Thanks for the idea though.

sorted - I managed to take it out (quite easily...) so I can tap it without dropping crap into the box. Cheers.
