NOTE: This is for members and their private sales/wants.
There are rules that suppliers have to follow (and many of you do follow the rules). However there have been a number of instances recently where "suppliers" have broken the rules.

Suppliers/Dealers or anyone selling with a commercial view in mind CANNOT post here unless responding to a specific request of a member in a "wanted" post.

Suppliers include people "breaking for spares" on a regular basis, when purchasing spares members should ask a supplier what they contribute to the running of the forum

It's not a major job to repair that. It's just a case of cutting off the broken bits, making a suitable replacement plate and welding it on. If it's just the one tab that's broken it shouldn't be more that an hour's work, two at the very most.
If you take it to a garage it would probably be quite a bit cheaper to get it repaired than source a replacement axle.

It was a garage that suggested the replacement axle rather than welding!

When I last looked a new axle several years ago was 700 quid just for the tube/casing. I can't see them having got cheaper. I paid about a third of that second hand but it was not really worth the savings over new when the faffing about after was factored in..

Is the rest of the axle badly rusted? If more than just that broken bracket needs repair it may not be economical. If the rest is solid I'd get a second opinion.

My belief is only that bracket is broken but I plan to do a check over the rest to be sure.

Lamberts Engineering do a range of " repair units" for the Jimny.
Am pursuing that route at the moment.
