New Arm Rest was created by Soeley
Martin, do you know how high up the seat back the arm rest sits? For example is it the same height as the elbow rest/grab handle on the door card? Just trying weigh it up.

Cheers.

HI,

I will answer both your questions here. I have just picked up our Jimny this morning, it has been returned whilst we wait for the new steering modification bulletin parts.

I will be fitting the armrests to Gerald the Jimny this coming weeking I expect so a more accurate report will be available then.

First the colour match. Its pretty close, I think under some lighting it looks like have a shade lighter than stock but in other light it looks the same.

I placed it on our Jimny's seats for comparison

Here is the fabric one

Here is the PU one

Someone had posted a Dutch/German?? video of the installation in a Gen 4. When they exposed the seat frame that it bolts to, the frame was like a strip of meccano with holes all the way up. It is unclear to me whether there is a single set of holes it fits or whether it can fit in the holes of your choice. If it is the latter then it can be fitted at any height, probably in 2cm steps. However this may not be true of course

I bought one of these (from Germany) for the Jimny4. I decided not to fit it but instead put in a '09 Swift. Despite the row of holes there was only one fitting height.
It looked very good fitted and added some comfort. Sorry I have no photos, the car was involved in a heavy accident and we no longer own it.

Martin, the fabric colour look spot on in the pictures. I shall await your comments once Gerald has been upgraded.
Thanks.

I have one of these - www.armster.co.uk/shop/suzuki-jimny-2019-armster-2-armrest/

Cheaper alternative - not as substantial - installs over the cup rests - finish matches the plastics of the 2019 SZ4/5.

Pros - could be mistaken for an OEM product - good height - some storage - good vertical strength and it was cheap

Cons - you lose the cuprest/storage, not as substantial as the offering/recommendation of BigJimny and lateral strength is questionable.

Will post some photos at the weekend.

Another downside is that it does not slide/adjust with the seat.

Martin, just seen the video you posted, looks good so far. Did you manage to measure the height?

11cm from lowest point to the transmission tunnel tray. The lowest point is the knurled wheel for adjustment. The highest point is about 12cm on top.

Access to the cup holders varies depending on where the front seat is. Both are accessible for small cups of coffee (Macdonald's standard). Anyone buying Starbucks buckets of coffee will have difficulty with the front position. The rear is better for our leg length, my Virgin Atlantic coffee mug fits fine

So roughly the top of the armrest is about 23cm from the top of the cup holders?
