Yes! - we did it, probably the largest gathering of Jimnys since the UK launch by Suzuki!
Having had the previous event in November snowed off, it couldn't happen again, could it??. Following a week of mild weather it suddenly turned cold and the early reports from Tong were not good.
It was with some trepidation we set off on Saturday, with a whining alternator on the Range Rover and the reports of bad weather ahead it was not looking good. When we rolled into Leeds the snow was on the ground and a very thick fog mean't we were reduced to a crawl on some roads. Still the snow appeared to be melting so we settled into the hotel for the night.
The next morning revealled that the snow had melted from the roads and the mist had lifted to make it a clear but dull and cold day. We arrived at a freezing cold Tong and stood shivering in the car park, then a heart warming sight appeared, convoys of Jimnys coming down the hill into the car park - the event was on!
The pictures of the event say it all. If you have any pictures then let me know. I am putting together a magazine article so it would be really helpful if those of you lucky enough to attend would identify the car you were in and both your real and nickname.
